Wild Spirit
An invitation from Stephen, who will facilitate our next gathering.
Our next Wild Spirit is on January 6th, known as 12th night, also known as “Epiphany”. The Epiphany is an ancient Christian feast day and is significant in a number of ways. In many countries, January 6th is Christmas Eve, as December 25th in the Julian calendar is January 7th in the Gregorian calendar (the one we use in the UK).
Yes, I know, ‘Epiphany’ is also a song by American Rock Band ‘Bowling For Soup’ from their album ‘The Great Burrito Extortion Case’! But we won’t be listening to that at Wild Spirit.
An epiphany is an experience of sudden and striking realisation. Generally the term is used to describe scientific breakthrough, religious or philosophical discoveries, but it can apply in any situation in which an enlightening realisation allows a problem or situation to be understood from a new and deeper perspective.
We can’t guarantee you’ll have an epiphany at Wild Spirit, but please join us as we reflect on the past year and look forward to 2018, and maybe, just maybe, you’ll gain the perspective of The Divine as we meet together in the open air, enjoying creation and the interaction with each other.
We welcome people from any tradition, from all faiths and none, young and old. If you would like to bring a contribution in the form of a reading, poem, story, song, or a thought that you feel is relevant to the theme of the day, and/or some food to share, we’d welcome that too.
We will meet at 10am, in the grounds (not the bit you have to pay for) of Pevensey Castle, Castle Rd, Pevensey BN24 5LE.
We hope to see you there.
